Star Wars: Ranked

I first saw the original Star Wars trilogy - well, the Special Editions, at least - in theaters back in 1997. My parents took me to see each installment upon re-release, and like any typical seven-year-old, it took approximately two seconds before I was hopelessly and annoyingly obsessed. I memorized the names of characters and ships, of planets and alien species, until it literally pushed all the math out of my brain. It's why I can currently tell you what a YT-1300 light freighter looks like, yet I've forgotten most of the multiplication tables.

Regardless, I've always loved these movies, be it a genuine love for the originals, a somewhat ironic love for the prequels, and a defensive love of the sequels. So I decided to write a post ranking Star Wars stuff. You'll see all 12 theatrically-released movies in this ranking, and also the television shows Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, The Mandalorian, The Bad Batch, and The Book of Boba Fett. Many of these shows are unfinished, so I'm just ranking them based on the episodes that have aired up until now. Because the Star Wars universe keeps expanding, I definitely haven't seen every show, but I think I have my bases covered.

Below the ranking, I'll link to various posts I've written in the past about specific Star Wars movies; some of these might be retrospectives (as is the case with the prequels and originals), while some might be reviews buried in "Best Movies of the Year" lists (which happened for the sequels). If you're looking for a justification of my opinion - say, for example, why The Last Jedi is ranked so damn high - just click the link and read the review. I haven't reviewed all of them, but again, I think my bases are covered. Read and enjoy, you scruffy-looking nerf herders!

(I haven't written a review for Rise of Skywalker or Solo, okay? But to make it quick? I think Rise is significantly better than most people give it credit for, with some neat ideas, sensational visuals, and stellar performances. Solo on the other hand, is a paint-by-numbers origin story that nobody wanted - as bland and inoffensive as Disney could make it after The Last Jedi divided audiences. There, are you happy? I'll surely write more detailed reviews later. Probably.)
